Library

The Bishop Allen Academy Library is a thriving and active place in the life of the school. One of the goals is to teach students to find and use information from a wide variety of sources – print, nonprint and electronic. The BAA Library seeks to provide, organize and disseminate resources which support the school curriculum and student interests.

An important element of our mission is to encourage the enjoyment of books, learning and reading. Our first event is Allen Reads: A year-long conversation about books that matter.  Please come to the library for details The “Festival of the Word”, which is held in the spring, is a celebration of the written and spoken word and involves numerous guest speakers, and performances by various artists. The Festival provides our students with the opportunity to interact with published authors, journalists and performance artists. Inevitably, the students come away from this experience with a renewed appreciation for language and literature in all its forms.
